Edmund Lally Roxby                           1844-1912
Edmund was born 21 August 1844, the son of Rev. Henry Roxby Roxby and Augusta Maria Lally, at Camberwell, Middlesex.
He attended Clapham Grammar School, then King's College London. He entered Emmanuel College, Cambridge University, on 1 May 1863, earning his B.A. in 1867, and M.A. in 1871. Read his obituary, below, for details of his life.

ROXBY - On Sunday, the 20th Oct., at St. Peter's Rectory, Tiverton, Edmund Lally Roxby, Rector of St. Peter's, Tiverton, and Hon. Canon of Gloucester Cathedral, aged 68 years.

OBITUARIES
CANON E. L. ROXBY Canon Edmund Lally Roxby, rector of Tiverton, died suddenly yesterday morning.   He rose with the intention of celebrating Holy Communion in his church, but was taken ill and died within half an hour.   He was educated at Emmanuel College, Canbridge, where he was captain of his college eight and obtained his Trials cap, and was ordained in 1867 by the Bishop of Oxford (Dr. Samuel Wilberforce) to the curacy of Wooburn, Bucks.   Thence he removed for a short time to the curacy of Holy Trinity, Tulse-hill, and in 1871 was nominated by the trustees of St. Cross Hospital to the vicarage of aldershot.   Two years later be became vicar of All Souls, Brighton, and in 1879, incumbent of St. Margaret, Brighton.   In 1888 he returned to Tulse-hill as vicar, where he remained till his nomination in 1895 by the Simcon Trustees to the important rectory of Chiltenham.   In 1899, Bishop Ellicott collated him to an hon. canonry of Gloucester Cathedral.   In 1907 Canon Roxby accepted from the Peache Trustees the rectory of Tiverton.
