George Schwartz Kissling

Born in the Yorkshire town of Ferriby on the 15th September 1841, George was only a few moths old when his parents and elder brother John, left the UK for New Zealand.

He was educated at St John's College in Auckland.

After leaving school he joined the Union Bank of Australia, but transferred to the Bank of New  Zealand when that was founded in 1861.
